At the core of my philosophy of education is the understanding that students need to be formed through their education as both an academic, and as a well-rounded person. In other words, education properly understood should form lifelong learners, and virtuous people since the beauty of truth leads to beauty in action. These two outcomes come from a blending of an environment wherein the teacher forms a strong relationship with their students, and exhibits a love for the content that they put forth. By doing this, a desire will cultivate within a student that drives them to want to perpetually learn and be a productive, magnanimous, person. In this way, education is holistic since it develops a student’s mind and actions. The mind is developed through the content, and the actions are developed through the formation of virtues.
